Spotting Talent

Spotting Talent
By Vikas Singhal • Issue #5 • View online
When you a take an interview (Technical or otherwise), within 5 minutes you have an opinion about the person, right?
Well, that happens with me.
I have my pointers when spotting a talent during an interview or when scouting the internet, like:
  • ask a fundamental concept, see if they are clear in basics.
  • ask something they might have not heard about, see the reaction.
  • ask about playing as a team, what happens when a team mate disagrees with you?
  • ask about passion and how did they get into whatever you are interviewing for?
If someone maintains a calm energy throughout and navigates like a bird, chances of hiring goes up.
What are your pointers?
